Rigid termPIR AL PIR Insulation Board 140 mm

Versatile Thermal Insulation with Excellent Performance

The termPIR AL PIR insulation board with a thickness of 140 mm is a high-performance thermal insulation solution suitable for a wide range of building applications. Thanks to its excellent thermal properties and durable construction, it can be used in various areas of a building – from the roof to the foundations, depending on the requirements of the specific construction system.

With a thermal resistance of R = 6.50 m²K/W and a very low thermal conductivity of λD = 0.022 W/(m·K), the board provides highly effective and long-lasting thermal insulation.

Applications of PIR 140 mm Insulation Board

Typical applications include:

  • foundation walls and other wall structures
  • ceilings and floors
  • flat and pitched roofs, including:
    • above-rafter insulation
    • between-rafter insulation
    • below-rafter insulation

Durability and Protection

The termPIR AL 140 mm board features a rigid PIR core with very low water absorption and excellent dimensional stability.

The board is protected on both sides by a special multilayer gas-tight facing consisting of:

  • aluminium (AL)
  • polyethylene
  • paper

The facing provides additional protection and helps maintain stable thermal insulation performance over the long term.

PIR 140 mm is an excellent solution for modern, energy-efficient construction projects where high thermal performance, durability and reduced heat loss are key priorities.

Structural Properties and Practical Advantages of PIR 140 mm Boards

The rigid PIR (polyisocyanurate) foam core provides high compressive strength and excellent dimensional stability, while maintaining a low overall weight. In practice, this makes 140 mm PIR boards easy to handle and install, even when insulating large areas.

Excellent Thermal Conductivity

One of the key advantages of PIR insulation is its very low thermal conductivity of λD = 0.022 W/(m·K).

This excellent thermal performance is achieved thanks to the advanced structure of PIR foam, allowing highly effective thermal insulation while keeping the required insulation thickness relatively low.

Available Edge Profiles

The boards are available with three different edge profiles, allowing the most suitable option to be selected for different installation systems and project requirements:

  • straight edge
  • tongue and groove
  • rebated / stepped edge
