We offer second- and third-grade rigid PIR boards from ranges including termPIR AL, Thermano and Soprema. Different formats and thicknesses are available. These boards may have scratches, uneven areas or other defects and should be selected according to their condition and intended use.
Features of PIR boards
PIR (polyisocyanurate) is a thermal insulation material with low thermal conductivity and a closed-cell structure. It provides thermal resistance in a relatively thin layer, which can be useful where space is limited.
Where can PIR boards be used?
Suitable applications include:
- roof insulation, for flat and pitched roofs,
- wall and façade insulation,
- floor assemblies,
- cold stores and warehouses requiring temperature control.
Choosing second- and third-grade boards
This stock offers a lower-cost option for projects where surface appearance is less important, such as selected foundation, roof and internal wall insulation details. Inspect the defects and confirm the board is suitable for the intended system. PIR’s low thermal conductivity helps reduce heat loss when the insulation is correctly specified and installed.
